40 Day Journey of Lent to Easter
The triptych installation piece is made of linoleum block prints on panels using imagery to mark the 40-day journey of Lent leading up to Easter.
The images illustrate the waiting, the hoping, the praying, and the resting during Lent – and include symbols of reflection during Holy Week, the “Hosannas” of Palm Sunday, the cross of Good Friday, and the empty tomb and rejoicing at the resurrection of Easter .

Linoleum Printmaking
more than 20 members of First Covenant Church, Seattle, participated in creating the linoleum block prints that were used in this triptych. Sandy led a series of workshops at First Covenant, and her home studio, where participants made a total of forty-eight unique blockprints, all from designs drawn in advance by Sandy. The project produced an enormous body of work, as each participant printed multiple copies of their work to share and keep for their own art collections.
